We want to take this opportunity to thank all the leadership that attended the Kitaskiinan Kawekanawaynichikatek Leadership Meeting that took place on June 8-9, 2022 in Thompson, MB. This meeting served as both an information session and a round-table discussion for the projects initiated by YFFN (Kitaskiinan Kawekanawaynichikatek - The Land We Want to Protect) and FLCN (Mamow Katoskatamuk Aski Alliance - MKAA). The communities in attendance were York Factory First Nation (YFFN), Fox Lake Cree Nation (FLCN), Shamattawa First Nation (SFN), and Tataskweyak Cree Nation (TCN).

Community Survey 2022

We are asking members (on-reserve/off-reserve) from the communities of York Factory First Nation (YFFN), Fox Lake Cree Nation (FLCN), Tataskweyak Cree Nation (TCN), Shamattawa First Nation (SFN), and War Lake First Nation (WLFN) to please fill out the following online survey regarding the ‘IPCA Vision Statement’ for Kitaskiinan Kawekanawaynichikatek - The Land We Want to Protect.

The survey is intended to give every member (youth/adult/elder) in each of the five (5) Cree Nations a chance to provide a written or verbal description (or vision) of how they see our land being used and protected in the future. Our elders and leadership say that this ‘Vision’ is something we all must work together on, and that the resulting ‘Vision Statement’ (document) will guide all future work in this project.

We welcome you to share your thoughts and insights, in English or Cree, about:

Please provide your response with as much detail as possible. We love Nayhenawaywin / Cree language - so please use the language if you like!
